The Good Sisters
By Michel Tremblay
Based on the Martin Bowman and Bill Findlay Scottish translation of the play
Directed by Marion Wyatt and the creative team behind The Sunbeam Girls
Cork audiences thought The Good Sisters was great - and so the ladies of the northside will return for four additional performances in April!
Meet fourteen women at their unbeatable best, laughing, loving, gossiping and surviving. The Good Sisters is a night of hilarous and moving theatre chock full of humour and characters.
Set in the north side in 1965, Geraldine Lawlor has won a million Green Shield stamps – the 60s equivalent of striking it rich in the Lotto. From that mixed blessing, a friends and family drama unfolds with wild and raucous action and an homage to that greatest of working class passions: bingo!
"for fans of salty humour this comedy is sure to be a crowd-puller" - Irish Examiner
"a sharp ear for earthy Cork dialogue" - Evening Echo
"the laughter quota is very high...lapped up with hoots and hollers" - Evening Echo
